Sushi and other SWPL

Annika bloggar om sushi och om hur det ibland blir liksom lite-för-mycket. Jag känner att jag förstår precis vad hon menar och funderar på vad jag riktigt menar när jag till sist kommer ihåg att sushi - det är ju en typisk sån där sak som White People Like. Åh men javisst finns det ju med på Listan. I den där finfina bloggen Stuff White People Like som skriver sådär lite syrligt om vad den vita medelklassen, i all sin strävan efter originalitet, gillar. Och den berättar att Vita Människor, dom älskar sushi. "To them, it's everything they want: foreign culture, expensive, healthy, and hated by the 'uneducated'." Mera exempel:

Grammar
When asking someone about their biggest annoyances in life, you might expect responses like 'hunger', 'being poor', or 'getting shot'. If you ask a white person, the most common response will likely be "people who use 'their' when they mean 'there'".

Scarves
"I like the guy in the white American Apparel shirt with the glasses". "Which one? there are eight". "The guy with the keffiyeh". "Oh yeah, you're right. He does look smarter and more political than the other guys. He's clearly more sensitive to wind, so he's probably more sensitive in general. You should totally date him".

Indie Music
To a white person, being a fan of a band before they get popular is one of the most important things they can do with their life. They can hold it over their friends forever!

Organic Food
"white people believe that organic food is grown by farmers who wear overalls, drive tractors, and don’t use pesticide"

Renovating
All white people dream about buying an older property ("with character") in a city, and then renovating it so the insides look all modern with a stainless steel fridge.

Traveling
That's right, by going to a country, riding around on a bus or train, staying at a hotel or hostel and eating – they are doing something important for the world.

Andra saker som vita mänskor gillar är political prisoners, having gay friends, standing still at concerts, microbreweries, apple products, marijuana, breakfast places, not having a TV (ja what's up with that egentligen??), wine (jo just det Annika!), tea (hihi!), Barack Obama, film festivals.

Avslutningsvis vill jag bara säga att jag gillar sushi. Och yoga, och Juno, och Living by the Water. Och mycket annat som finns på listan.
