Bloody Mary

("It's used as the cheapest, easiest test of crap, isn't it? If teenage girls love a movie, a book, a band, then it's immediately classified as mediocre shit.")

In 1999, Ella was one of three students who arrived at her Denver school with a cache of weapons and a plan to use them. Years later, she sifts through accounts of other violent young women, writing letters to a little sister who had to grow up in the aftermath of that day.
In 1952, Sally was a runaway, hitch-hiking around Australia with a strange, secretive girl named Amy. Each outcasts in their own way, the pair navigate a landscape scarred by old memories and tragedies, searching for a place that will feel like safety and home.
And in 2011, Charlotte was a music journalist on tour with a band, listening to their stories of loss and hope. Though they are in very different times and places, the three are linked by a web of legacies and second chances.

"Punk is dead and it has fangs."

"I mean, look at me, I’ve got tattoos all over my arms; I pierced my nose with a thumbtack when I was eighteen. I’m twenty-seven and I still spend all my time at rock shows. The kids I see there — and the kid I was myself — aren’t like the kids in Twilight. Where’re our books?"

Hon medverkar också med en essä i The Girl Who Was on Fire (essäsamling om Hunger Games!).

"Not every essay in The Girl Who Was on Fire adds depth to the already rich world of Hunger Games analysis, but it's a thoughtful exploration of the books' major themes. And it's a fantastic invitation for younger readers to take a second look at the fashions, relationships, science, media culture, and political maneuvering that make Katniss such a compelling heroine and The Hunger Games such a relevant series."

Borsellino jämför i sin essä "Your Heart is a Weapon the Size of Your Fist" kärleken som en politisk handling i Hunger Games och Orwells 1984. Love is our resistance.

PS. Och hon gör smycken! Önskar Mockingjayhalsbandet och rödråsa dödskallehalsbandet.
